E-texteditor 1.0.27 Released

28 Aug

This great (and is really great, trust me!) editor has a new version released which have a brand new bundle editor and a lots of minor bugs fixed:

  • All new bundle editor! You can now edit the bundle items directly in the editor with all basic features available (syntax highlighting, snippets, undo history, etc..).
  • Hold down shift when selecting an item from the bundle menu and it will open directly in the editor.
  • From the context menu in the bundle pane you can now export full bundles and individual items for easy sharing.
  • Added syntax for MSDOS batch files (.bat).
  • Lots of minor bugfixes.

The latest release can be downloaded at:
http://e-texteditor.com/download/e_setup.exe

I hope only will be stable as previous version (.26) and not like .21-.25 version :D

  1. It is too bad that it’s not open-source or freeware, at least. If you find a solution to overcome this problem (:D) please contact me!

Not all good things are free :(

But if you delete this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e you can extend your trial :D

  3. Still me…
I wanted get some information on e-texteditor, so I ask a power user: you.

First of all I want to know if it’s possible to add a padding to the text (or the source code). It’s too close to the left and top border for me. Sublime text has an option like this one, but, you know, you have to edit a file to activate and modify it.

Second, I wanted to find out how does your e-texteditor handle when you have multiple tabs opened. I have 6 tabs opened, one on the left, one on the right, three in the top-middle, and one in the bottom-middle column and my processors are going mad (got AMD Turion 64×2 at 1,6GHz).

Third, how can I modify the shortcut keys, because they overwrite some of my operating systems pre-defined ones? I have romanian keyboard layout set up to be the default and some of the keys like ALT + ; (which should be ș without the ALT) doesn’t seem to work. I have to switch keyboard layouts each time I access e-texteditor, and it’s quite the pain in the soft places.

Oh, have I mentioned that I first used e-texteditor when it was on the 1.0.13 version?!

As far as i know, is not possible this or change your keyboard shortcuts. E-text forum is full of this kind of request and even myself is frustrated with ctrl+y for redo and not ctrl+shit+z :(

if you have multiple tabs, when you press ctrl+tab will go to previously used file. Is kinda confusing first time, but I managed well :P

For romanian keyboar i strongly recommend you to use the keyboard provided by http://www.secarica.ro it’s much confortable by keeping english keyboard layout and using AltGR as modifier key ;)

Btw, a new version is out :D
